Studio D'Artisan SD-103 5 months

Repaired, thanks Anton!

Compared to 6 months S0500XX.

This picture doesn't belong here, but anyway, it's the S0500XX compared to Rickard's S0510XX(15oz version).

I like the denim and detailing of these jeans a lot but I'm not a big fan of the fit, in fact I think that's the biggest flaw that Studio D'Artisan has, the cuts aren't that inspiring.
In my opinion he SD-103 is unproportionate, the rise is too low compared to the width of the legs. The rise should either be higher or the legs should be a little slimmer and perhaps taper.
But this is only in regard to how they fit me, they might be perfect for someone else.
If I bought another pair of SDAs it would be the SD-101 which is a 50's fit with the same great denim as these have.

I had to get these repaired after four months but don't let that I scare you away from Studio D'Artisan. The denim is/was quite starchy and coarse and I wore the jeans fairly snug, which was also a contributing factor.
The quality is definitely there in every part of these jeans and you need to remember that you are in fact not buying jeans that will last you years and years, you're buying jeans that will wear out beautifully.

If you're European aolhnd like Studio D'Artisan I have great news for you. You'll soon be able to buy the brand's products in stores in the UK or order from there, which is easier and might feel more comfortable than having the stuff shipped all the way from Asia.

My point is that this sets the grounds for a religious minority, who only holds one mutual interest with you (them), taking powers that they would not have otherwise had. Not ordinary powers, not humanistic rights, not the American dream. I mean political power of persuasion that may very well be dangerous and antithetical to our idea of a free and “liberal” society. That in a Muslim world, fueled by special legal precedents for Muslims, we would be beset by a Religious Right that we worked very hard to destroy throughout most of the 20th century. You’re more than welcome to do your own research on what exactly happens in the Islamic world and what Islamists have done to freedom of speech and our right to ask questions in European countries.

The favor of Liberalism is not repaid. It never is. This is why when it comes to my “Liberal” under-belly, which has nothing to do with a party but with how I treat and allow breathing room for my fellow Americans, I’m a hard-ass that refuses to appease horse-shit to tow a party-line.

What I’m saying is, specifically, watch out for how exactly you lobby for equality and freedom because there are always loop-holes and precedents that can cause an extreme amount of injustice for everyone but the folks who come out on top. Don’t give special privileges or be a respecter of religions when our civil rights already do the trick (do not fall into the same peril as Europe).

What I’m saying is this, flatly: you’re out of your mind if you really think that any Muslim should be free from criticism. You’re out of your mind if you really think that questioning the most violence stricken religion in the world is somehow “out of the question.” You’re insane if you think that it is not proper and just to respond to the Islamic world’s persecution of Western culture with an equal measure of critique.

I’m more “liberal” than most of the bigots who project onto me their own inadequacies. My purity of principles gives me that advantage.

I don’t respect gender rights while on the same hand respecting a group that seeks to oppress them. They have their civil rights, they need nothing else. I don’t need to join a hand-holding festival to suddenly view them as westerners because they’re not and they never will be so long as they value the Mid-East more than they value us.

They are neither Englishmen or Germans, Americans or Canadians. Their culture is not my culture and it isn’t the law of the land that I should respect them for their choice to participate in a violent blood-thirsty religion that just so happens to have a few examples of good PR in countries where they have no legitimate power beyond civil rights. They play by the rules when they have to, but don’t think they aren’t out to change those rules.

I don’t respect children while on the same hand respecting a group that abuses them. No not the individual one or two you happen to know, just like you always have “token” friends that are somehow always the victorious exception to the rule against anything some “bigot” like me should say. I mean the ones who have the power to fully implement their horrors in countries where they hold the same power they seek here.

I don’t respect people who come to their ethical conclusions based on the scrawling of a mad desert prophet who admitted to things I wouldn’t even begin to do. No more than I respect any version of the God of Abraham or any system of thought that opposes the liberalism by which I enjoy to live.

Because I’m more left than left. I’m too right to be right.

The Insufferable Bigotry of the Young Left

Based on a previous entry, of great controversy, located here:

hxxp://www.josiegallows.com/2010/11/an-open-letter-to-the-young-left/

But first!

Refuse to have your right to criticize a Theocratic ideology legislated away in the name of “tolerance.”

Tolerance is great, respecting someone is a whole different story.

Moving forward:

Free thought and reason has no party and only temporary alliances. This can be proven a billion times over if you wish to waste your entire life discussing the merits of certain ideas with people from every demographic imaginable.

They all have one particular bit of irrationality that needs to be appealed to in order for your message to take hold. That’s why they’re so susceptible to propaganda.

So in all fairness, what about those who would more often profess “free thought” and pluralism? You have to appeal to even more and the pile of appeasements needs to get larger every year in order to tow a party-line. These days, you have to swear by the peacefulness of the Islamic system of thought and that it has had zero negative consequences in Europe and elsewhere. You have to deny reason, history and you also have to put your own values underfoot as a “liberal” in order to support a religion that’s as far from “liberal” as you can get.

This is why I ditched the left as a circle in which I communicate despite the fact that I still hold values which are incompatible with the equally closed minded right of America. The right that probably doesn’t acknowledge that there are a growing number of Atheistic Conservatives who hold values that are vastly improved to what has been on the scene for the last half century. This is why I do little more than poke and prod because all I get are talking-heads who want to kill the messenger instead of considering the message.

If you don’t appeal to some complicated book of rules on what you can and can not say, suddenly you’re a bigot. Heaven forbid you try to reason out something in a manner that’s slightly different from what Liberals have already accepted as the supreme truth and law of the land.

Closed minded cretins who in other nations would have me jailed for “Hate Speech.” You can not legally enforce the rule of “if you don’t have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything.” If you do, you act in opposition to free speech.

Recently I received a few thousand hits based on an entry I wrote, which can be accessed here:

Those words make me a bigot, apparently. But why? My point is, specifically, that Muslims are not Liberals. They only have a mutual benefit and so will vote almost exclusively “left” in America. Liberals want to gain votes by appealing to minorities, regardless of how, and Muslims generally want the power to sway the law in their favor (which should be unnecessary considering they naturalize or are born here with equal civil rights as everyone else).

I love our western liberalism, with our “whore women” and our “materialist ways.” The biggest reason I cringe at “God Bless America” is not a frothing irrational hatred for Christians but simply because I don’t think it meshes. I like that we can party, eat what we want to eat, live how we want to live so long as it does not infringe upon the civil rights of our neighbors nor abuses our children. I’m an American like Benjamin Franklin was an America. A Libertine and an intellectual. I respect America and our European brothers more than I respect a sandy form of systematic persecution that has never once effectively run a peaceful nation into anything but the ground.

I favor diversity, which means don’t come try and dominate my culture and I won’t support going and destroying yours. I favor diversity, which means “go to your side of the table and leave me alone, thanks” because I shouldn’t have to cater to everyone and their mother just because someone else has equal civil rights. That’s my right. That’s American.

So yes, again, can you live with Islam? By that I mean, can you live with an Islam that has more rights than you do as a non-Muslim? Can YOU deal with being taunted yet legally fined for taunting back yet with reason and grace? These are the dangers I’m talking about, not more aircraft into your buildings. A more insidious danger that threatens the very liberalism you let Islamists use as a spring-board to launch themselves into media.

I don’t think you could live with it, even if you said you could. You’re too keen on hostility to not allow yourselves the freedom to criticize. Just look at the things many of you say about Christians.

And for the record, I’m as far from a Christian as you can get. I don’t mesh up with the typical “bigoted” views on what constitutes an Anti-Islamist.
