6 months and 5 soaks later, things are starting to get interesting.

At first I thought this denim would be too slubby for my blood but now I'm liking it a lot. I couldn't take any more though.

WORLD PREMIER

I have together with Mads and theschemes created a forum specifically about vintage-style jeans and apparel.
The thing that's special about it, apart from the niche, is that there are representatives from a few brands there ready to answer your questions. My hope is that this will better the relations between those who can't visit the stores of these brands, for example Swedes who're interested in Ironheart will get a chance to talk to someone from Ironheart and receive the same service as if he or she visited a flagship store.
I also hope that this will draw in people with a genuine interest and keep the discussions at a good level.

The brands so far are Ironheart & FreeBee, The Flat Head, Samurai, Post Overalls, Kato, Denim Demon and BayIcon.

Fienden & BayIcon

Fienden and BayIcon have come together and created the essential hillbilly wear: a denim vest complete with a Southern Cross! It took the guys a lot of effort and a lot of thinking but now it's finally here for us to enjoy.

David ended up winning the Nudie contest and it didn't come as a big surprise, really!

When you're going to a party you need to make sure you'll arrive there in style. This means "denim, denim, denim".
If you're bringing something to drink, carry it in a denim bag. If it's a better kind of party you need to bring a jacket.

S0500XX 5 Months

Handwashed again, mostly to shrink them down. This is just after they'd dried, so there aren't any creases.





UPDATE: I took a couple of new pictures today, I'm thinking these might be better?

Denim Demon SS07 in stores

So, the new Denim Demon collection has been in stores for a while now, and I just wanted to give you a heads up.
I've written about this earlier - the new thing is a new, slimmer cut(Aahka) and a new, heavier type of denim, 14,5oz instead of 13.25oz.
I said before that the two different fabrics are very similar, but after seeing them side by side I have to say they're not. The old denim has a greenish tint while the new denim is very blue. The texture is a little different as well.
I really couldn't say that either is better though, it's definitely just a matter of taste.

Also, if you're not in Sweden, it'll be a lot easier to get your hands on a pair now as Sneakersnstuff is now selling the jeans online.
They have pictures of the fit when the jeans are sized up and worn low, but they look a lot different when worn high, like I prefer to do.
Hopefully I will be able to get pictures of this soon.

For now, you'll have to make do with these pictures. They're of the first edition Aajja after two and a half months of wear.

Bayicon Street Cowboy

Swedish Bayicon just released their new limited model, the Street Cowboy, and I paid them a visit to have a look at it!
It is inspired by early 20th century models and comes with a cinch-back, suspender buttons and suspenders to go with them. No belt loops! The leatherpatch is also centered, just like the old times.
The denim is 11oz redline selvedge, made in Portugal, where the jeans are also sewn, and supposedly woven on a narrow loom from the 1930's.

The best thing about Bayicon, and what sets them apart, is the triple-stitching, inspired by early Lee-models, and the felled seams. There is no overlock stitching to be seen anywhere on their jeans!

The Street Cowboy fetches a hefty price at 2000 SEK, 295 USD or 215 EUR.
